I have been photographing off-and-on as a hobby for 45+ years - mostly off.  Having started off with small format (35mm) I eventually graduated to black & white darkroom work with medium format. Being none too good at that, I then moved on to 4x5 in an effort to improve…with a more impressive camera. Success hardly ensued.

After several relocations the effort of keeping-up a dark room became a bit too much and I put photography away, and sold everything that was salvageable.

Then, after several flirtations over the intervening years the digital age of photography appeared.  The interest hit me again (the convenience of digital helped) and I now I am merrily pressing the little button in an effort to create something that might be mildly interesting to myself.
